Acne lesions or pimples happen when open pores or the hair follicles on the skin get  plugged with oil and dead skin cells. This  follicle is the perfect place for bacteria to grow which results in pus-filled red bumps known as pimples.

Keloid scars – They are not caused by a loss of tissue, but by the overproduction of collagen. So they will be raised from the surface.
